I think you should be looking at the whole relationship that you have with your dog if you feel you have to justify your actions to it. Just sit in front of a mirror and repeat the words ' I do not have to answer to my dog'. Do this 100 times and the next time your dog expects you to do as you are told you will be strong enough to resist.
