I had this happen once... between my sons. I believe it's called a Blighted Ovum... you got pregnant, but nothing became of it. It's horribly painful to go Through emotionally, but don't lose hope. (I had 2 more babies using Clomid for my PCOS also after this happened to me)

I was also on Clomid. When I got pregnant the first time, I thought it was odd not to be having morning sickness. I went at 5 weeks for the first OB check and they could not hear a heartbeat, so they did a regular ultrasound. They did see an egg sac, but only a spot for the fetus. The doctor said it was a miscarriage and the fetus was reabsorbing into my body. We did genetic testing which was fine, but my progesterone level was very low. We decided that this may have happened previously and we didn't even know it.
By the way, before this all happened, I also had multiple cysts on my ovaries from being prescribed Clomid and not having it monitored properly by my previous doctor. Yep, very painful--I went to the emergency room thinking it was appendicitis.
Good luck! I'll be praying for you.

Unfortunately it could be an ectopic pregnancy. Where the fetus is inside the fallopian tube thus indicating your pregnant and causing the pain. I would think he would see that on the ultrasound though...
Sometimes weird hormonal changes can happen as well and create a false positive. Have you taken another pregnancy test just to see what the results are?
If the pain persists or gets worse go to the hospital. You don't want anything to rupture and cause severe problems.
Usually you can see a fetus by 6 weeks, including a heartbeat.
Just be aware of your symptoms and hopefully all will be fine.

I first found out I was pregnant when I was around 7-8 weeks. My OB did an internal ultrasound as well and could not find a sac. I went back in about a week or so, had another ultrasound- the sac was visible this time. I had a healthy pregnancy and now have a very healthy, energy-filled toddler! I'm no doctor, but I don't think you have cause to worry. Good luck!!

I was 6 weeks pregnant. Had a positive pregnancy test and I went for an ultrasound and they couldnt find any thing either. They had me to do blood work and then do blood work again 3 days later to see if my hcg levels went up that ment there was a baby and if they stayed the same then it was a tubial pregnancy mine went up but it was scary not to see your baby and to wait 3 days. Im sure everything is fine. Its just a little too soon!!

When I found out i was pregnant I was 3-4weeks. I went to the dr and he said I found out so early, they couldn't see the sac. I had to go back and they finally found it around 6 weeks. I also had to go back again to find the heartbeat. They also had a very hard time hearing the heart beat. They had to keep doing vaginal ultra sounds to find it. I hope this eases your mind. I'm sure everything will work out. Good luck

Could be late implatation. This has happened to a lot of women!! Just go back in ten days. If you're HCG levels are rising and look fairly normal, then I wouldn't worry. Also, you might not be as far along as you thought. Give it some time!!
Good luck and congrats!!

5 weeks is still pretty early. Did they check in your fallopian tubes to make sure it wasn't a tubal? I'm not sure about cysts and if they make your body give off HcG. A good site to ask is at www.misfitmoms.com there are some members that have gone through similar things.
