If we are fighting a war in Iraq that is winnable should not the numbers of insurgents be decreasing? Where do they come from?

Perhaps my logic is wrong, but each additional death is a net increase rather than decrease in the death toll. Likewise theology doesn't tend to teach the justification of murder or the inherent superiority of any ideology or ethnicity, or the illogic of the creation of people from inanimate objects.

None of the answers to the politics of our modern world are to be found anywhere in the Old Testament Both of Abraham's sons laid him to rest with honour and respect.

Well, I don't see any logic in the terrorists. Equally I don't see any logic in George Bush's response to them. That's demonstrated by the results. He got it by the tail when he asked after 9/ll "Why do they hate us?" He didn't hold on long enough to hear the answer - which anyone with any knowledge of history could have told him. But I don't think he was listening anyway - and he certainly has no understanding of history, East or West. So he persists. The most stupid commanders always fight the next war with the strategies of the last one. George hasn't studied even that. I think he's actually watched too many cowboy movies - and thinks he can write the script. Meanwhile, the battle that matters - climate change - goes on blithely neglected, while George and his pups pursues the scripts of 19thC economics and 20thC politics, and the Islamic fundamentalists pursue a 16thC world view with the grudges of the 20th. No wonder we're in a mess. It's certainly beyond logic (but wasn't it always), and now I feel it's even beyond satire.

Obviously not. I like your satirical question. The world is obviously fed lies about a so-called "winnable" war and the reasons why it has to be waged. I am not defending terrorists but evil begets evil. The more injustice is done, the more it generates hatred and anger, and in many cases, give rise to sympathetic terrorist acts. Only the truth sets people and nations free!

There is no war on terror in Iraq.
There is a war of propaganda in America.
Thus, enemy combatants become insurgents or terrorists. Of course these people were not necessarily enemies before they saw American troops land in their country. They are now treating the U.S. military as an invading force. It's hard to argue they're wrong.

not to be disrespectful but didn't you get any of this in Theology School? Are you asking indeed literally are they coming from the school of thought of: "Before there was actual heart of man, he was of dust and had not a conscience" or are you coming from the school of thought of: "the peoples of the sands are not of the heart of man of God, therefore, let them wander in their ignorance?"
You know, I could go on for days in this question. I believe you'll find the answers in the Old Testament, somewhere around where Abraham's family existed and the peoples who became so distant and wandered.

The terrorists are coming from the ranks of Muslims, particularly the madrasas (Islamic schools). The teachers there are urging jihad.

That's the funny thing about when you kill peoples relatives--they tend to get angry and want revenge. Why are people surprised that there are more "terrorists" now than when this idiotic "war on terror" was begun?

Hmm lets see uh, they are decreasing that's why you see the death toll is down, but you have to understand its easier to find a standing army then a face in the crowd with a gun.

Sand and stones are so boring that terrorism becomes the answer to break the boredom.

They are imported from Saudi Arabia and Syria. Some also come from Pakistan and Iran.
The more we (USA) kill then the better. These people have no purpose and their "ideas" are garbage.
The are barbarians and I'm glad to see them die.
