I think people are attracted to people who somehow resemble them, even in the slightest regard.
My SO and I have the exact same color eyes.
I also chose him with this in mind. I would rather look more like him than continue looking like me, lol.
I think using the same mannerisms works the muscles of the face in such a way that you start to look like each other, not only in mannerisms, but in the way your face responds to working those mannerisms.
Plus you usually are in the same environment and eating the same kinds of foods, which adds to the similarities.
Then if you have children together then people will start to notice the qualities that your children share of each of you and that helps the "look the same" feeling.

Not at all LOL! He's well over 6 feet tall, dark hair, chiseled features. I'm quite short, blonde, have dimples. He looks nothing like me.
