Yes, saw in theatre. McBeth is a punk rich kid who has a sick thing for his hoochie mo who helps a boyfriend kill Macbeth's old man. so Macbeth, a teen with a serious identity problem (i'd call it borderline personality disorder with a mean streak of malignant narcissism) stomps around like a bad *** like he is about to really gonna do some serious pay back. he is purely a chicken, however, and wants to talk about it and gets up everybody's nose with wise *** comments. he is no hero but he is a nutcase. cannot feel sorry for him but you keep hoping some sword fighter will leap out and cut his throat and let the show go on. M is a whiner, not nearly as clever as he thinks he is (bipolar?) and has an Oedipus Rex hangup for Mommy, a clear psychopath herself and likely a nymphomaniac. little given on hamlets old man except he was too old to cut the mustard. sometimes i wonder if audiences back then were there to see the fancy clothes and fast action with swords flying and choking and everything but car chases in today's cheap movies. the sure didn't worry about logic or psychology.

Oh, i had a totally different take when i studied it in college and learned to talk the talk and pass the test. But now. now i am older and a little more suspicious of sacred cows. Hamlet, you arrogant little punk. Rosencranz or someone should have stuck a shank up your butt at the end. The audience would have given a standing ovation!

There are many versions of Macbeth around on film, including animation, if you go to your library I'm sure they will have a choice. Personally I still think the Orson Welles version stands up well.
Mel Gibson was not in Macbeth, that was Hamlet.
Basically it is about political ambition, lust for power and how it corrupts the central characters.

I don't normally use this site, but this one is valid. Basically it's a tradegy loosely based on King Macbeth of Scotlands life. Read the play...it's wonderful.

Get it from the library, the version with Mel Gibson - he explains everything. (DVD if possible, the commentary may be on a special track).

Nice try! You might try reading it and if you can't do that, at least buy cliff notes. hahahahaha
