i have some 100% wool felt, the tag says do not wash, but i wanted to shrink it to use it for crafts projects so i took a chance in washing it warm, and now it smells....any advice on how to get the smell out, and also why would this happen? it didn't smell before i washed it!

I don't know why, but 100% wool always does that, always! Hang it outside in the sun and breeze for a couple days. That helps my wool slippers when I wear them outside and get them wet. Another thing I do is buy that lemon spray air freshner at the auto stores and use it to help out. Together they are great. I need them a lot because I wear my slippers inside and outside all the time.

its like tennis shoes once you wash em they tend to smell musty or stinky... try putting it in a zip lock freezer bag with a bounce sheet for a couple days... see if it works... i use then in washed sneakers while they air dry.. the bounce removes the oders and leaves a fresh smell
