They like to tell everybody to eat healthy and lose weight......this being their answer to healthcare but they are against promoting farm fresh healthy choices and homegrown in America. Bush doesn't even want you to know what country your food is coming from. I bet he isn't eating anything made in China.

The Republicans aren't saying we shouldn't spend money on these programs. They're saying the Democrats want to spend too much on them. They SHOULD be saying that it's not the government's job to spend taxpayer money on such crap, but they don't. They've accepted your premise and are playing the game on your terms. There is no way the Dems can lose, because the Republicans have already given up the fight. Just have patience, and in time you'll get your Socialist Utopia without any objections from the GOP.

Seriously though... I see what you're saying, but I think it's all about politics with the Bush administration at this point. It's gotten to the point where I'm waiting to hear that "Bush threatens to sign bill" because he's been threatening to veto so much legislation lately. And yet, congress has a lower approval rating. It could just be cynicism, but that's how I see things now.

What does the article have to do with your statement? The bill has less conservation than pres. Bush asked for. The government need to stop subsidizing the big farmers anyway. How is that the rich farmers need the government's money. They are already making over $200,000.

If Bush had any kind of conscience at all he would be embarassed by the huge trade deficit that exists between China and the USA we import 3 x's as much stuff as we export to them. Hmmmm I'd say that was an inbalance in trade, and yet we continue to hear him harp about how the great the economy is. I guess life is good in China.
