Yes! 10-15% would be sufficient. They are your server for that meal.

Well (Rich Z)... what makes your meal better,
is that you did not have to shop for it, prep it, cook it
or really think much about it at all except for picking up
a phone and ordering it.
That worker did a lot more than you did to get that meal together for you!!
If any person it too lazy to prepare their own meal they should always expect to tip a reasonable amount for that service.
BTW, are you proud of being 5150??

Just my opinion. There are too many jobs now where tips are considered standard. I wouldn't tip a carry out person based on principal. They make at least minimum wage. I tip waitresses because the make on average 2.15 per hour plus tips and I tip delivery drivers because companies dont compensate enough for their gas. The reason for tipping is to reward for an individual for going above and beyond their job title. I cant see how a pf chang carry out employee qualifies.

I would not tip a carry-out worker. I have never eaten at that chain but I can't think of any special service they are providing that makes my meal better. Their wages should have been set to cover that routine job they are doing so there is no need for a tip for doing it especially well.

One should tip for all carryout. If you cannot afford to tip, go grocery shopping and cook for yourself. Don't expect service and not pay for it. The staff takes valuable time getting everything in order correctly.
This also applies to going out for dinner. Dining out is a luxury that all people cannot afford. Lets face it, times are tough. If you don't feel like tipping, don't go out. Your doing no one any favors.
18% is the going rate for in house tipping. For carryout, 10-15% is appreciated. A servers pay rate lower than regular minmum wage. This wage barely covers the taxes. Servers and other restaurant employees rely on tips to pay their bills.

Yes, but not too much because they are getting atleast minimum wage. A nice 10% tip will do because a carryout worker also expedites your food (puts it together from the kitchen).

Most carry outs are prepared by servers and bartenders that DO NOT make minium wage. It is PROPER ettiquette to tip on carry-outs. Ten percent is sufficient for carry-outs opposed to twenty percent if you are dining in. Please do not make assumptions about how much that person is making.

I never tip when I get carry out. If we start doing that, we might as well tip at a fast food restaurant. Waiters get tipped because they make such a small hourly rate.
