I am going to start college and taking pre calculus, which includes: Solving Linear Equations, Solving Equations of Form ax2-b=0, Quadratic Formula and Applications, Matrix Multiplication, Inconsistent Systems and Infinite Solutions.

Which calculator should I buy: TI 89 or TI 89 Titanium? Will TI 89 be enough?

im not sure but isn't the only difference in the two memory/storage. If thats the case only get the platinum if you plan on playing lots of games on it.

I think the only difference is that the titanium has changeable faceplates. As far as the computing level, it's the exact same.

If you plan on studying mathematics you should go with the titanium , I think they're pretty close in price anyway....

There is no significant difference between the two except storage capacity. They do exactly the same work and both should work fine for what you want.
