accumulation is the event of the sand, sediment and rock being accumulated into an area. For example, the sedimentation of sand and then the formation of sandstone. Next comes the orogenies which are the actual mountain building events. When the plates push against eachother they sprign skyward (which is the only place for them to go) and then the uplift stage is when the mountains continue to grow after the initial mountain building event
