Yeahhhhhh, except you just called it a FALSE idol. So you know it's false so you can't really believe in something that you already know is FALSE, right? Unless you really manage to delude yourself into believing that the magic 8 ball is actually a god...

Look at it this way.
If a person believes in God and lives and upright and Godly life, even if they are wrong about God, they have lived good lives.
On the otherhand, if you decide to worship your Magic 8-Ball and disbelieve in God, won't you be embarassed at the end of your life if you turn out to be wrong?
