is it actually possible to no longer love and to only hate, because of events that have happened in the past?

Hatred is only an expression of fear. Loving someone leaves us vulnerable to our worst fear, being hurt. Hatred is an intense emotion and does not exist together with indifference. If you find yourself "hating" someone you used to "love" chances are you still feel love for that person, only now the fear of that person hurting you again turns that warm lovey feeling into a cold protective barrier, a wall you can hide your wounded heart behind... The intense "hate" feelings will subside when your heart has had a chance to regain composure and heal a little.... In the meantime, just don't ACT on these negative emotions, that'll turn it into something else altogether!.

from what yor saying id say yes it can happen but the extreme cases are when people become psychos about it all .... hating from what youve written is a mechanism of a way of dealing with something because of the past... for example if a person has experienced something bad like something or somebody is taken away from them they close up and begin to hate those who did it and to an extent those around them. it does happen alot i think but in order to deal with these kind of things they should seek help such as counselling to help get their feelings out.

That isn`t the reason for hate and don`t get the idea that hating is the worst thing you can do. There are many much worse negative emotions to get addicted to than hate. Try depression for a while and see how you like it. Just joking!

It would be VERY hard. It is the same as the question, Can you never tell the truth? It takes the brain twice as much energy to lie as to tell the truth, because like what we call love telling the truth is a natural part of humanity and the way humans think.

Speaking for me myself and I, because basically no one can speak for the lot of us. I would never want to stop loving and only hate. I don't want to hate at all. It is not in my nature. It is not who I am.

Have a good weekend.

In the book 1984 by George Orwell it is...but I don't think in reality that could ever happen. BTW...that book is really good, so if you are looking for something to read try that.

Why would you want to hate in the first place? Hatred is such a painful and draining emotion.

I think so. Any sane person should be able to remember one speck in time where there was love in their life. An insane person? They may not have that ability to remember.
