I agree with your thesis.
However, I disagree with your assessment of Cheney and Rumsfeld. They may be bureaucrats and not intellectuals like Wolfowitz or Kristol, but they are major players.

Former liberals who used to be Democrats and extremely hawkish. They left the party after 60s and 70s, many of them joined different parties and started their own foreign policy thought. They espoused Wilsonian ideals and interventionist policies, they believed is our moral duty to bring democracy to every country to create a perfect world.

At the top level they are Corporate Facist who are bleeding America dry to line thier own pockets and will sacrifice our democracy and our lives to fatten themselves.

At the lowest level NEANDERCON, they are those who opted out of Evolution and are therefore not effected by it.

Originally it was a group of Zionist liberals who decided to use the US military to fight all of Israel's battles for them while funneling millions of taxpayer dollars into their own private bank accounts under the cloak of "war" and "national defense".

Over time, it has become synonymous with "neo-nazi".

Cons morphing into Fascism. Not all Cons are just those who think they are 'high & mighty'. They are caught up in power and while seeming to be religious are actually falling away from it.

It's someone who doesn't support socialism.
Someone who isn't a coward and doesn't hate the USA.
Someone who sees through Michael Moore's attempts to undermine the USA, without the honesty to admit he's motivated by socialism.
Someone who isn't brain-washed by the NY Times.
Someone who disagrees with socialism and their exploitation of poor and needy people.
