Here are Sabathia's, Beckett's, Haren's, and Verlander's numbers. They've all had Cy Young Buzz:

ERA: 3.70

153.1 Inninngs pitched

Josh Beckett:

K to BB: 117 to 25
ERA: 3. 27

1 Complete Game

Dan Haren:
W to L: 12-3

Justin Verlander:
W to L: 11-3

But what about...
Erik Bedard:
W to L: 10-4

His numbers are just as good. Is he not getting any Cy Young buzz, just because he plays for the Orioles?

Forgot about Carmona. Thanks for reminding me about him!

I never leave out Johan Santana. I just always count him on getting Cy Young votes, so I didn't even put his stats

Well anyone who follows baseball should know Erik Bedard. He has some of the nastiest stuff in the league. He will get a lot of CY Young consideration and will most likely finish in the top 3. One guy you did forget was the best pitcher in the league, Johan Santana. There is a perception throughout people who follow the game that he is having a down season, but his numbers are as good as all of these pitchers. Here are his numbers: W-L: 11-8, K-BB: 144-34, ERA: 2.94, 1 complete game shutout, 141.0 Innings pitched, and WHIP: 1:03. Even though he has a lot of losses, it's because the Twins aren't giving him a lot of run support. His walk and home run numbers are up, but he's still the scariest pitcher in the league. But anyway, Bedard is known throughout the baseball world, and will be one of the front runners for the award. The only reason I mentioned Santana is because there is a perception that he is having a bad year, and he's really not. Don't forget about JJ Putz, the closer for the Mariners. Closers get a lot of consideration if they are as lights out as he is. His stats are: W-L: 1-1, ERA: 0.96, K/BB: 50/7, 47 Innings pitched, WHIP: 0.60, Saves/Save Opportunities: 29/30. Those are incredible numbers.

The problem with Bedard is exactly that he plays for the Orioles. He wont even win 15 games, so he will not be considered.

Carmona does not have an era under 3, its closer to 3.40, but it is still good, he just hasnt been consistently dominant enough to be considered a Cy Young candidate. He was 2-3 in June with an ERA over 5.

Right now, I have to put JJ Putz into the consideration. 29 Saves for a team on a tear, with an ERA at 0.96. Thats rediculous.

Jeremy Guthrie (BAL) has been on a role and has had only a couple of rocky starts. He has completely nasty stuff, and strikes out a lot of batters. This is off the top of my mind but i think he had 10 straight quality starts (giving up 3er or less in at least 6 innings)

So there you go, even though hes really not talked about because he's on a suspicious team in the powerful a.l.

I know you put in Fausto Carmona, but I cant say enough how good that guy is. I would probably say hes the best on the Tribes staff. CC is awesome, but I think Fausto is better. Fausto just has some flat out mean pitches, and I dont think CC dominates as much as Carmona does. Although, CC is in a big slump as of late, so he'll break out of it.

Give it a few more weeks. If Bedard keeps playing like he has been, there is no reason not to consider him with the rest of these great pitchers.
