Introvert literally means "to turn inward". In other words, a person who is an introvert is quiet, shy and introspective, as compared to an extrovert, who is sociable, outgoing and extremely friendly. Introverts tend to keep to themselves, and are deep thinkers. Extroverts are the life of the party, love to be around people and crowds, and are generally leaders and planners.

An introvert is an inward looking person: one who concentrates mainly on his/her own thought and feelings. The opposite is an extrovert: one who concentrates on external forces and is outgoing, or 'the life of the party'.
An introvert is not sociable (able to mix well with others) while an extrovert is sociable.

Most people think it totally has to do with being shy and NOT outgoing. But it also means how you react when you're feeling your loweste. Some people keep feelings inside and want to be alone (introverted) and others need to go out and get it off your mind (extroverted).

I think an introvert focus's more on how others see him and to conform with others, more as a follower.
An extrovert is one who doesn't care what others think, or even care that he is liked or disliked

it's the opposite of extrovert, if you say "introvert" they are more concerned with the inner world of the mind. They enjoy thinking, exploring their thoughts and feelings. They often avoid social situations because being around people drains their energy.
