NO ,it is the government that tries to keep everybody on the poverty level, and in debt, but I got news for them. I am an American and I am not at all in debt.

i think americans lack alot in the culture department and they are pretty material and status driven but no i don't think debt is part of being american. it's pretty common though and easily attainable

I'm an American, and I owe nothing to anything. I pay my electric about 6 months in advance. My home is paid for, along with my Yukon Denali. I pay cash, or I don't get it.
