If not, can I get a refund on the $500 I paid for the warranty??
I missed the 6 month service and apparently it said it in the contract to get a service every 6 months but we were unaware. Now I need a part costing somewhere between $1000 and $2000 and cannot afford it. My car is a late 2000 model!!!

What would have been done on the six month scheduled service that would have affected the contract or the mechanical integrity of the car? What does scheduled service to do with what it needs to repair it now?

I frequently used to buy and void service contracts after taking the car off the lot. I moved out of state on one that was dealer specific to where I bought the car and I wrote the dealer and asked for a refund and got no answer and then wrote my Congressman and he forwarded my letter to my current state Attorney General who then wrote the dealership and I received most of the money back. I had services done at my expense in another state where that particular warranty didn't apply. Some are local and not national.

I just tell the dealerships now what I will and will not pay for and if they get nasty then I get up and leave and take my business elsewhere.

Good Luck!

I'm pretty sure No. We went over our warranty on a 2000 Holden 2 years ago and now our warranty is stuffed. Fingers crossed nothing major goes wrong with the car. No on the warranty as well, sorry.

It relies upon on the present mileage and a few different issues. For the main section, in case you have 75K+ it could be ok. Pull your dipstick and scent the oil, if it smells burnt, you like it replaced. Do it your self, that's somewhat common.

go to your local mechanic, not the dealer and ask him to service it and back date the paperwork on it, throw him a case of beer for it, most of them will do it and if not it doesn't hurt to ask
