How can I point out instances where my boss lied without saying he lied?

He wants to get rid of me and has been giving me a hard time, so I am obliged to present my side of the story, which includes the fact that he has lied a number of times. We will be meeting with someone from the personnel office, so I have to be polite and reasonable.

You can say, "there may have been an inaccuracy" but that is really tap dancing around it. "Less than truthful" is very straight forward. You can also use words like falsehood, fabricated, deceptive...Wow, this sounds juicy.

You need to be more specific...
Oh, then make a list & bring it with you. Is he lying about things you've done wrong to make his case to get rid of you? Bring supporting documentation to back yourself up, even if it's just writing down instances of what he actually said, on what date, when his story changed, etc. That way if you get nervous, you'll have it in front of you. And if he lied, he lied. Stick with the facts, it'll sound more professional. This is your chance to tell your side - tell it. You KNOW he's telling his.

You have to tell the truth and keep your cool. If you hem and haw that doesn't make you look truthful, so like you said you have to be polite and reasonable. But you have a right to stand up for yourself and say "you didn't say that", "that's not what happened", "you never told me that", "no, this is what said.." etc... If he's lying he'll trip himself up.

First of all don't bust him out in front of your coworkers. Talk to him off to the side, and say " remember so and so..., well I recently found this". By all means you must use tact, and if he is a good leader he will humble himself. Be respectful and don't be hah I told yo so!

Short of calling him out and saying he's a big ole liar, you really can't. I'm pretty sure he knows. And if you call him out, he may start riding your back hard to look for ways to get you out. Survival of the fittest.

Perhaps just suggest that he omitted to tell you on numerous occasions a glaringly large amount of details?? Enquire politely as to his health and express your concern regarding his apparently rapidly declining memory at perhaps the prime of his life !! ....................... basically jus be really rude without actually saying so .......... hehehe
