I agree with the above... 15 for a small yard (half acre), 20 for a yard with 3/4 acre of grass... more if you do edging and such. Do not offer to do things, like trimming hedges, unless you know how. There *are* wrong ways to do it. Don't do anything not agreed on just to be nice. I had a boy mow my lawn and then ruin my front shrubs once, which was pretty frustrating for me.

This also depends on whether you are expecting to use their lawnmower and gasoline. The above would be if you use YOUR equipment and gas. Cut out some $ if you use theirs.

Naturally it depends on the size of the lawn. A somewhat normal size would be between $15 and $20. Depends on if you edge it and blow the grass or bag the grass clippings.

THe more you offer the more you charge. Remember that you want to promote your willingness to learn and tell t hem what you are earning money for ...... whatever reason. If it is just to spend on junk then they will not be as impressed, but if you are saving for a new computer or something like that it makes them feel like they are helping you and it is a worthwhile service.

I'd figure 10 to 15 dollars an hour, that takes the size of the lawn out of play.

Sorry, but it really depends on the size of the lawn and the going rate for where you live. Our parcel is approx. one acre, but at least a third of it is woods. Takes me 1-1/2 to 2 hours to mow. When we hired someone, we paid approx. $20 per mowing.

Hope this helps.

I would think how large is the yard, do you trim and edge, rake or gather the clipping on the lawnmover. We have a professional service that charges for all the above and it costs us 15. Since you are not a professional and not do all those services, ask $5 for front yard and $5 for back and then negotiate (discuss) what they think it is worth. That works out to about minimum wage.

If you do a good job, the age shouldn't matter. You might check around to see what the "going rate" is, and shoot for that.

Good luck!
