The only way the system would think that they are helping me or getting rid of me is to put me in a mental institution, lock me up, put a sign, a label on me that says something like “Bipolar”, “Boderline Personality”, “Dangerous”, “Crazy.” The fact is that the system, other human beings who have not experienced the same thing, the same emotions can not possibly understand. If they did understand the emotions that are unbearable to the soul, they would be in the same situation as I am. I am sure about this and I still keep an open mind. If people understood me and how I felt, no drug, no psychiatrist, no psychologist could help them get out of the situation. When I lose the memory, I can live my life happily and live in the present. When there is something that reminds me of that memory or it happens again, then I will easily go from what society and the English dictionary calls the sane mind to the insane mind. Others, who have experienced this, can no longer understand me, because time makes you forget. They think they understand and have held on to that experience but it is impossible.

It’s too much to take when people don’t want to sit next to you, be seen around you, have you in their memory because it disgusts them. You experience total loneliness. You want to die, but you can’t because there are people who love you and don’t understand. If they ever did understand my situation they would want to kill themselves in an instant. I don’t know how I’ve made it this far.

A genetic defect prohibits the body from producing enzyme FMO3 which is needed by the liver to process the protein TMA. Unprocessed TMA causes offensive body odor known as the fish-odor syndrome.

Trimethylamine causes an offensive body odor that resembles rotting eggs and is released in the person's sweat, urine and breath, giving off a strong fishy odor. People affected with TMAU may produce more sex cells like sperm, and will have diarrhea. There also may be additional metabolic problems such as mood swings associated with TMAU.

There have been transient (temporary) cases reported in women during menstruation, in young children, and in people with copper deficiencies.

You are right. The system does not make a good parent so when someone is in its care and in need of care often times, and too many times, an institution becomes the cure all and it is not. Institutions offer managed care, not personal care. You are right in that once admitted there, you are labeled and it becomes more about the diagnosis/treatment than the person. Often times, the ppl who make decisions to put ppl there would also find themselves there in different circumstances. We all are only as strong as the worst event that has happened to us to date. We cannot possibly know how we would cope if we had different circumstances in our lives. It is important to remember though that workers and judges are doing the best they can (for the most part) and are working with the limited resources they have.

You have done a great job learning about your disorders, understanding them and expressing your feelings about them and how they impact your life. That is something to be proud of and it shows your intelligence, determination, self motivation and your desire to seek information to improve the quality of your life. It is unfortunate that you have this as it does alter your life in many ways. I am sure you know ways to treat it such as taking low doses of antibiotics to reduce the bacteria, avoiding certain foods and using soaps with a moderate pH.

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulty but I am not sorry that you obviously have the wisdom to mange it and control it rather than allowing it to control you. God Bless you as you continue to bless others through your experiences.

Keep a positive attitude, that is all we can ever truly control anyway! :)

I empthaize with your condition. I think the problem is not only with peoples ignorance but societys social structure. The majority of society sets the norm, those that exceed the norm are showered with love and affection. Those that fall below or in your case are simply different due to medical reasons are rejected and "Labeled" by the norm. Anyhow good luck to you I hope you find peace and happiness despite your illness.

SugarP,

The problem is not the illness or problems that may be in one's life, but how we think of them. It is quite easy to feel sorrow and pity for the self. It's part of the nature. This can only occur if we spend time thinking of ourselves and our problems.

The rule of thumb in psychology is that thoughts lead to feelings. That is to suggest if you want to feel differently, then choose other things to think about.

I suspect that you don't enjoy feeling this way. For the next hour, think of something else entirely, or do something other than thinking. I know that you will experience a huge difference.

If you continue to think about this, you will continue to feel depressed. It is now a choice if you will continue to be depressed, or alter your experience by altering your thinking or your actions (thinking to some other action).

Ok. Why not change your life motto?

It says in your ID that "Life can be cruel". One of the foremost laws of the universe: "What you believe is what you get."

You want your life to change? Change your mind. Believe that life can be kind. When you start doing so, watch how your life changes from cruel to kind. You'll see how life can be kind to you, gestures that you didn't notice before.

I am not kidding. Stop blaming everybody else around. You alone are the maker of your life. As long as you choose to remain in the reality you are choosing (that life can be cruel), then nobody could help you however they try.
