I think you should be getting the message here. You can get married right after your divorce is signed by the judge. But is that a wise thing to do? Most people know............no ........it's not. It is not even wise to be in a serious relationship right after a divorce. You need time to grieve, to heal, to look in the mirror and see what you were responsible for. Fix that and yourself before you go into another serious relationship. If you don't, it will just follow you into the next one.

the date the divorce decree is final it is final.... that simple..... there is no legal waiting period after the fact, or at least that I have heard of..... I know ppl that start planning the second marriage the day they file for the divorce and marry the day after it becomes that way... I always wondered what would happen if the divorce was contested and it was NOT finalized when they thought it would be ??? God bless

You can do it immediately after the divorce is final but if you have any respect for your ex give it a little time or be descrete.
If kids are involved wait a year or so give the kid a chance to get used to having divorced parents first.

This depends on whether you are a believer (follower of Christ) or not. If you are a believer and you have been either cheated on, abused, or alcohol/drug addicted by your spouse you are excused from your marriage committment before God. However, you will also have to meet/marry a person also a believer and had the same reason for leaving his/her marriage. Now, if you are not involved with Christianity I don't think there are any rules. Some people are engaged before the ink has dried on a divorce.

They could get divorced in the morning and married in the afternoon. But WHY would someone want to do that?? Anyone care about the person they are getting divorced from? And if not...WHY NOT?? They were married to them! And who would want someone straight off of a divorce? Do they consider themselves sloppy seconds?? We all need to care about someone else besides ourselves!!

It depends what the divorce decree says. Sometimes a spiteful spouse or a spouse who doesn't want the divorce has a time limit written into the decree, like 90 days or 6 mths.
If the decree says nothing, then if its final at 1pm then you're good to remarry at 1pm +1 second.

I am not going to give a legal opnion, but a practical and wise one. It has been said that after a traumatic event like a divorce, one is wise to make no major moves for a year. It is also good advice to have a year-long engagement. So my answer is a minimum of two years.

As long as it takes to walk from the clerk of court to the justice of the peace. But I would NEVER do that! Whew.. need time to breathe after a divorce.

I think if you get divorced in one state the wait to remarry in that state is usually six months. But you could always fly to Vegas or visit another state and remarry there sooner.
