Fish are like people. Sometimes it will work and other times it will not. Most Betta fish will nip other fish with larger flashy tails.
You just will have to try it and see if you have a well behaved Betta.

yes, generally.

many people will tell you that bettas dont like facy guppies due to the tails etc...

i dont put much stock into that.

it will be fine.

But it does depend on the betta, some are mor aggressive han others. But i guess im lucky, my male is fine with guppies.

I agree with bettachris, it usually works... not to say you can't get the occasional fish with an attitude, but over all I have had good luck with it.

Okay people who "thumbs down" me!

I have a 20 gallon tank with a betta, several guppies and neon tetras. They have been living peacefully for a couple months : )

I dont think so I would not do it. The betta would get mad at the guppies if they have fancy/shiny/long tains/fins. It would basically kill them because of the attention. Dont do it... sorry :[ good luck with your fishys
