For those of you who lived in the 70's, doesn't TODAY'S news remind you of the Carter years?

Not yet, inflation isn't out of control. Wait until all those making a profit from the Iraq conflict start losing business. I think all the outsourcing of higher paying jobs and the use of illegal labor for the low paying jobs are starting to catch up to America. We owe China a fortune, when is that option going to be called and it's time to pay? I think we saw the opening salvos from the stock market this past week. That's just my guess.

Not really. We've had a problem with Iran since the Carter era pretty continuously. You might also note that it's not just us, but the vast majority of the UN that is criticizing the Iranians. Gas may be expensive, but at least we have enough of it. All in all, the Carter era makes this look like a Chucky Cheese birthday party.

The only similarity between today and the 70's are that the trouble in Iran are both of Carter's making.
