Supposedly carbon monoxide and nicotine are eliminated from the body after 24 hours.

One time a cigarette was sitting on top of my monitor and rolled down inside it through a small hole. We found it a year later when we took the monitor apart to clean it. It's a generic monitor but my system is an ibm pc running windows.
