It depends on the potential employer and what they are willing to pay for a background check. Most companies go back 7 years of misdemeanors, 10 years for felonies and, as you indicate you will be dealing with money, your credit report and if you have and "bad" marks on any of the above, you likely not be considered for the job (and the can legally discriminate based on prior criminal records and bad credit history).

you should have disclosed anything that was there BEFORE you took the job.... it is not always what you have done....it is if you are honest about it....disclose anything that you are afraid of them finding out about....nobody is an angel in this world....it will depend on the type of offenses and how long ago they were....I just passed a back ground check for a sheriffs dept...and I assure you that I was no angel when I was younger..but I fully disclosed everything that i was worried about them finding out about...and come to find out it was nothing that bad at all.....I am in the running to be hired... so just tell the truth man...

mostly criminal actitity....felony is the big one. minor stuff they don't worry about. some employers will look at your credit report..don't ask me why...i don't see why that is any of their business but have know this to happen. if you are applying for a position that requires security clearance, it depends on the level....public trust to high level........they might take your hair and talk to everyone you've know all your life.

Depends what the job is and what kind of background check it is. Typically its just a state background check. Most employers would probably put out by theft, minor drugs, DUI, assault anything that would show a lack of judgment in character.

The employer wanted to know if the prospective employee was involved in any fraud, criminal or civil case so that it will be a denial for hiring.

in case you had a prior employment, they many times choose to appreciate the form you have been at that activity. Absences, unwell, well-known artwork suitable subject concerns. possibly they choose to appreciate what you probably did to attempt and improve your skills. Alsorts of issues like that.
