Real quick: this ***** (17 yrs old) who used to be my little sister's good friend for years but only drops by my house once in a blue moon now accused my father of touching her butt. Problem is, she says this occured 6 months ago or a 1 year and 6 months, i dont know the exact details, but she only reported it to the police 2 weeks ago. My father promises on his life he never did this and I believe him, not because he's my dad but he's never been a touchy, feely, kind of guy. He has been in this country for 24 years and has never had anything on his record, nothing, not even a point on his license. Another thing, that c*** is a delusional hoe who is hooked on prescription meds and pot; she is a compulsive liar, and even if the "harrasment" occured 6 months ago, she came to my house in May to borrow my sister's shoes and jeans. If it was so serious that she had to inform the authorities, why would she come to my home afterwards? This is not right! your opinion!

thanks everyone, this gir's parents had to put her in another high school she had so many issues. I know in my heart my father is innocent; he is the victime of so much misunderstanding, when i was 9 my mom told me he got a letter in the mail saying he hadnt paid child support for a child he had with some woman, I knew in my heart it wasnt true from th e moment i heard that; it took 5 years, but it was determined that it wasnt him; it was some other man who happened to have his same name; im sorry about the name calling, i realize it was wrong (although they are accurate assesments) my father went to a lawyer and he said that there is no proof and she just doesnt have a good case fyi

and also, what startled me so is that she stopped coming to my house regularly like 3 years ago; then she would come like once every 4-6 months.

she is calculating, trust me, she doesnt understand the repercussions of this; it makes me livid that she would have the audacity to do this after she ate in my house time and time again the food my father worked so hard for
i am not biased in saying she is a liar, she is! she craves attention; i got a bad vibe from her and her family when I first met them 8 years ago
it is not fair that this can taint my dad's name; and if i seem angry you should see my sister; she was her only friend when they used to go to the same high school; in fact my sis told me a few months ago that Everyone in school hated her (the accuser) when they used to go to school together; now it makes so much sense

As one of the above posters indicate, a charge would not be "sexual harassment" but either "lewd conduct with a minor" or "attempted statutory rape" under law.
You father should get a good lawyer as soon as possible to defend himself.
It could likely be the "girl" is a compulsive liar as she is not getting the attention she needs from her own parents and if she felt rejected by yours (specifically, your father) in any way, she may be lashing out at him as a substitute for the person she really wishes to lash out at...her own father...either due to neglect or possible abuse on his part.

And so what did the police say or do in the last 2 weeks. Has he been charged, arrested, court date; what's the rest of the story. If and when she takes your father to court, the burden is on her to prove her case. Your father needs to get a good attorney. To me, this is a he said/she said case of touching. Is that illegal. It's not rape or sexual assault. It's a free country. From now on, she comes no where near your house. And is she does, your father should never be alone with her. Don't call names. It doesn't change or do anything but make matters worse. Stay clear of her.

As Bingalee suggested, in Australia this may well be seen as a sexual offence. regrettably, the term "sexual attack" is an umbrella term for many categories of attack of a sexual nature. maximum human beings tend to think of of a "sexual attack" as a rape and that in simple terms isn't the case. i can't say that i've got ever heard of a school being so militant approximately some thing like this yet with sexual attack going on extra in many circumstances to youthful victims i think the college could be seen to be proactive. @Nick: it quite is absurd to charge 5 year olds with a "sexual harassment" offence. It baffles me how the police may even teach the reason of the toddler! talk approximately political correctness long previous mad.

There was no sexual harassment here. Sexual harassment takes place in a business situation, and can be anything, not just assault.
What you are describing is sexual assault. Or child abuse. It goes by different names in different jurisdictions.
And the statute of limitations on anything like this is far longer than 1.5 years.
The only thing you can do to help your father is 1) get him a good lawyer and 2) get him a good therapist. Oh, and make sure he doesn't start talking about this situation like you are. Judges do not look kindly on people attacking the victim of a crime.

my opinion is that there's no way he will be prosecuted let-alone convicted of any sort of illegal touching, it is too minor of a crime that she is even accusing him of, touching a girls butt even if she is under age is not a huge crime, its a misdemeanor. she must have some motive to be doing this especially if your sure he didn't do it then you should figure out why she would want to hurt him or your family and tell a lawyer whats going on. best of luck to you, just remember even if she gets someone to actually listen to her and this was to go to court there wouldn't be much of a punishment, it is so wrong though that a good man would be accused of something like that though so i understand why your so upset.

Don't listen to the person a few people above me. If you "sit her down" she can accuse you of harassing her which will just make you dad look more guilty than he already does.
Unless you're rich or they were having an affair it's unlikley that she would make something like this up.

If your father has a good name the police will see through her crap good people will back up his character and what goes around comes around so she'll get hers she probably wont get anyone to back her up then your father can charge her with blacking his name .

The problem with this kind of accusation is, once it's made there is never going to be 100% assurance that it didn't happen. I think false accusers should be publically humiliated in some inhumane way.

Different states have differnet statues of limitations on sexual harrassment reporting periods. Honestly if she waited that long to say anything about it the court might think she has different motives behind her claim.
