Does the American flag remind anyone else of kitsch or camp, or some variation of it? Most flags I have seen have two or three basic colors and a simple design. The US flag looks like a five year old designed it.
The stripes represent the first thirteen states, while the stars represent the current 50 states, meaning that when Betsy Ross, who likely never should have been allowed near a sewing kit, designed it, the 13 stripes represented the 13 states whilte the 13 stars represented the 13 states.
Seeing the Betsy Ross flag makes me realize that American culture was doomed from the start.

Awww I love the American flag.
I am still always awestruck whenever I see a giant American flag waving gently in the breeze. I never feel as free to do anything as when I look at that sight.
Some people assume that all Americans abuse their freedom or take it for granted, but we all don't.
I have always loved flags & kites & trees that sway with the wind, it's soothing.
As for the colors & the design of the flag, it has been all I've known from the day I was born... It's kind of like the Pledge of Allegiance... It just is.

simple designs are what make bad flags, not uniqueness, because of how different America is from the world is the reason for our success. And no the American flag does not remind me of kitsch or camp or any variation of it.

I think the American flag is beautiful.
I believe in the Country in which it represents.
Even with all the flaws, I believe in the people of the United States.
Many people I love have fought for what that flag represents.
I think the American flag is a work of art.
