Welcome aboard.
Yahoo guidelines can be very misleading.
Never answer a question especially from a Troll as "thanks for the points" as you could get a violation. Even some very innocent questions and answers receive violations.
Don't take things too seriously, there are posters whose sole aim is to antagonise.
You will enjoy it here-there are really some fantastic people here and they will help with any questions you may ask.
Always give a best answer as a token of appreciation.
Use the thumbs down sparingly.

As questioner: If you are asking for facts, make sure you have already done a diligent effort of searching for answers yourself before posting your question - don't make people do your homework for you. If you are asking for opinions, try to stay away from controversial issues that may start a flame war. Accept it that others will have differing opinions, but don't lose sight that a lot can be learned from opposite views. On the other hand, knowing that others have the same opinions as you may not be very beneficial, other than it may make you feel good. Read all answers, try to choose the best answer in a fair manner, and if possible thank your answerers.
As answerer: Be respectful of others, and they will reciprocate. Don't deviate from the question and try to answer honestly to the extent possible. Consider the question, not the questioner; attack issues, not personalities. If you post someone's material, give credit by citing its owner or provide a link to the source. It is bad form to lift verbatim someone's material and copy-paste it to make it appear like it's your own. If you want to post a funny remark to someone's serious question, make sure it's obvious so that it's not taken seriously.
Most importantly, don't take Y!A too seriously and just have fun!

Take some answers with a grain of salt.
Remember, that we all have our own agendas, but distinguish between the ones that don't agree or make an opposite statement or the trolls. The trolls are just here to ruin a party, but we can learn from opposite points of view.
I have even given best answer to people that I don't necessarily agree with, but that made a good argument. So an open mind is necessary.
Also, make your list of contacts. These people will star questions that could interest you, they also become friends and make their own interesting questions and answers which will also guide you to other interesting contributors.
There are some nasty posters. IGNORE them. Concentrate in the many other that are wonderful human beings!
Welcome! :-)

do not shoot the messenger (Rick B.) he's quite dazzling. reliable advice isn't "negativity." you may ought to artwork 40 hours a week (= 320 in the previous taxes and expenses) and then be one hundred% disciplined to maintain up $8,000 interior the 40 weeks ($2 hundred a week for 10 months) in the previous your deliberate pass. {and that i doubt you're allowed to artwork 40 hrs/wk jointly as in extreme college.} after which you think of you might have the time and capability to artwork 40 hours a week and attend college? [perhaps in one year one and a couple of, in case your job is on the factor of your condominium and you're on the factor of campus - yet those residences value greater.] - And no fraternizing with your boyfriend. you will spend all some time at artwork and with training [to not point out cooking, cleansing, laundry, and so forth!] - that may get boring, depressing, and positioned on you down straight away. except it fairly is insupportable or undoable (too a information on the thank you to college) stay at living house and make your education your precedence.

Welcome to YAP, sweetie. In addition to the great advice already given, I'd like to introduce you to the concept of "courtesy thumbs-up". See that bar on the right-hand side across each answerer...the one with 2 hands - one is pointed up TU and the other is pointed down TD. Okay, forget about the TD...as much as possible avoid clicking on that. Instead, make it habit to click on the TU. If you are the asker it would be really nice if you can TU all your answerers (anyone with close enough sane answer) as a way of showing your appreciation. If you are an answerer, it would be nice too if you coud TU the one above you - again if his/her answer is sane enough. It could be off-tangent, comical or whatever as long as it is decent, TU it. Okay I see you're at level 1, wait till you get to Level 2 to be able to do this. Have fun, sweetie! You're among friends.

Answer questions sincerely, avoid asking controversial questions. And as much as possible, be polite. If you encounter trolls, brush them off, or answer them for the points. :D Y! Answers is much like real life... if you project the image of a nice person, your Y!Answers life would be a pleasant one. ^_^

be more productive in terms of answering questions from a questioner... answer in the way where no people would be offended... answer wisely...
whenever you have encountered questions or answers that are antagonizing, or may violate the Community Guidelines, report it as abuse...
and most important, be yourself... yet, have patience and be considerate...
