that the person who says expresso sounds like an idiot because its espresso.. so you should be a good person and correct them politely so they don't go on sounding dumb (in all seriousness)

Espresso is said like it is written but the masses continue to pronounce it like it has an 'X' in it. Feel free to correct them because they are saying it wrong, like answerer no 2.

Actually, 95% of Americans mispronounce the Italian word, because both 'e's are pronounced with a short "aye" sound.
