i would help, here my story

so one winter day here in the northeast i was strolling along down the street when i saw what looked like a traffic jam on the corner of the side walk. it was this homeless lady, visibly shaking and was holding a cup in her hand begging for money. some people stopped and gave her money but most just walked on by. i noticed how cold she appeared cause all she had was a tshirt on plus a thin blanket

so i looked up and down the block for a mcdonalds, not realizing that the next mickie d's was like 2 blocks away. so i went there and bought her some food plus the largest cup of hot chocolate on the menu. when i returned to the spot, she was gone. i walked up and down and even around the block looking for her, but i couldnt find her. i even looked to see if i saw another homeless person that i could give the food to but there wasnt any.

so yeah to answer your question, most definatley, if i have it, sure why not

In addition to helping with the obvious problem, I would help the person find an agency or other more permanent assistance. Often solving an immediate need does not help the person in the long run.
Give a person a fish and they will eat for a day; teach them to fish and they will eat for a lifetime.

depends on if they asked for the help or not and depends on what they ask for. If there is a guy sitting on the sidewalk asking for money to buy a coffee I will not give him the money but I will buy the coffee. I also give money to buskers. But there a few people here who have loads of money but still beg for it and I walk on by. or when kids ask to bum smokes(when I was smoking, been 5mos since I quit) from me I said no.

If I knew for a fact that they were in need of help, I would help them as much as I could.
This doesn't apply to random beggars at street intersections asking for money. For some of them, that IS their job ... and they make more money at it than I do at my 9-5!

I helped a woman (rotten teeth, skinnier than Nicole) who said, "I just got outta jail, can you buy me a burgar?"

I did ... I figure she was brutely honest ... which I respect.
