As usual, the religious whacko's have taken a statement and twisted it around to fit their own sick ideas of sex education.
They are the most sexually repressed group of humans on the planet.
It is appropriate to teach little children the difference between appropriate and inappropriate touching and what to do if they think someone is touching them in a way that makes them feel uncomfortable.
Of course, the should learn this at home...but the parents don't like to talk about sex.
We all know that is what Senator Obama said..... It just makes some people feel superior to attach some sick sexuality to the whole thing.

Its really funny that the people who say stupid things like that about sex-ed are the same ones who dont support abortion and dont support welfare for when we have an influx of single and/or teen mothers who had to give birth because their other options were taken away.
I knew about good touch vs bad touch BEFORE kindergarten because my parents believed that truth is the best defense.
also, fetuses in utero have been seen masturbating during ultrasounds. As a normal part of development, children are going to explore their sex-organs because IT FEELS GOOD.
oh god! my kingdom for a sex-positive culture!

Nothing like that should be taught in kindergarten, they barely even read why do they need to know about that??? It shouldn't start at least in the 5th grade, and parents should keep alot closer eye on their children then maybe 10 yr olds won't get pregnant.

Whatever happened to childhood? You know, playing with dolls or superhero figures without worrying about whether your toddler understood the difference between the dark one and the light one, or other such political nonsense.
Even better, why is it that the parenting is being left up to the school system anyway? If children had good role models and guidance, they wouldn't be getting pregnant so young.
Don't try to confuse children with too many adult issues and force them to grow up too fast. That only makes for dysfunctional children who will take that knowledge and experiment on each other with it. If I find out some liberal hell hole of a school is telling my five-year-old such things I'll pull them out and home school them.

Absolutely NOT!! Children should be left alone to be innocent children. In kindergarten, children should be learning basic skills, making friends, playing, exploring the world around them, etc. There is no reason to burden...and confuse five year olds with that kind of cotent. If my kids were in a school that taught that...I would have pulled them immediately and placed them elsewhere.

NO SEX is appropriate in kindergarten!!!! However, starting in about 3rd grade it NEEDS to be taught. People may object, but I frequently see girls as young as 10 years old WHO ARE PREGNANT. Yes, sadly, I'm in the USA.

homosexuality being taught? its not a choice, and so you can't teach it...you should teach children that there is diversity in the world and that homosexuality is one of them...its normal like anything else...whats normal to you might not be normal to someone else but the opposite is also true and so they should be taught to be tolerant...
