Is it better to have more people or less?

If there were more, there would be more people to talk to and hang out with and everyone would know at least a few people (i have different friend groups)

if there were less people, I could give everyone a ride and we could have nicer invites/favors and everyone could sleep over (rather than a select number of people)

Please give me more pros/cons for each and give your suggestion.

Thanks.

Only 14?? What do you expect to do to "top" a really big event when your birthday comes around next year? I'm an old fart, by your standards, and you may discount my opinion because of that. Back in the dinosaur age, when I grew up, the ONLY major birthday was a "sweet 16" party. All others were confined to cake/party games at my parent's home, and back then, nobody thought that was lame. Today, birthdays have become "big bucks", and I refuse to buy into the mess. I do, however, try to make sure birthdays are fun for the kids---last year, for example, for my daughter's 11th birthday I arranged horseback riding time for her and 3 friends, plus had a sleepover. All cost less than $100, but everyone was more than happy!!
Do you really NEED lots of people to make this a good birthday???Could your parents buy you something else rather than forking out bucks for this kind of event??Unless your parents are wealthy, I hope you'd consider asking for an item you really NEED rather than just a party for people who you will, most likely, NEVER maintain contact with after you graduate from high school. Been there, done that. A 14th birthday party should NOT be that big of a deal.

Well I would say go with the 12. You will have a lot more fun and be able to do a ton more stuff then you would if you had 30-40 people. Although having many people would be fun, it would be chaotic. And if you want to enjoy the party and not be running around organizing everything during the party, stick with 12. Happy Birthday! Hope this helps(:

I think less, cause like u say u want more people to talk to but I mean if u invite 30 _40 people I doubt u will b able to get to talk to all of them ne way and with less u don't have to worry about not getting to talk to everybody, but with less u won't get as many gifts but, it's not about the gifts so I would go for the 12 people instead of like 30, or more like 20 is ok, but not 30 or 40 thats more of a sweet 16 party.

Okay well invite your best friends first then see how many you have.
With 12 people it will be fun but with 30-40 people you will have a ball! The truth is with more people you will get more gifts so that is what i think.

I suggest have the 30-40 at the party, the more the merrier and plus great oppourtunity for all your friends to meet and socialize.

However you could still possibly have the original 12 meet back at your house for the sleepover afterwards.

how many people can you handle? Do you get nervous in social situations? Then I'd say 12. If your a party girl, 30-40 people would do. But, the more people you have, the more food, drinks, etc. you will need and the longer clean up (more people usually equals bigger mess).

Less is more. If you have fewer people it's cheaper and then you don't have to worry about keeping them happy all the time. If you have a lot, then you are spreading yourself very thin as the hostess. If this is your b-day party, do it your way. I'm sure it will be perfect whichever way you decide.

Count the friend you think would be a good time and invite that number.

you only turn 14 one time . you should invite your friends. the question is are 30 to40 your real friends? or are they mere acquaintances? how nice would you like your party to be? do you want intimacy or just a quick visit? once you have answered these questions you will be ready to make your guest list. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. :)
