Beauty is an standard created by society, actually women will seek for a strong man that can provide wealth (a hunter) and men will seek women with guitar body (a sign of fertility) that can ensure survival of the species.

Other aspects of beauty are merely vanity.
In connection with the money it was originated from the need to get the wealth. However, there is a limit when satisfied the basic needs of a person you always wants more created needs, like a nice car, a big tv, dvd, psp, etc. If you think it , those aspects will not lead you to happiness because they always create you new needs and make you feel unhappy.

Because of fear of being left out. We have an innate survival instinct to value material success (plenty of food, a comfortable place to sleep, strong friends to protect us and our children) that has been with us (as in primates) for millions of years. Even today, we gravitate toward the attractive, strong, wealthy and charismatic people, driven by this conscience need to be close to those who "have it all" and be apart of their lives. I think that's a big part of why we value these traits, even though we also believe that spiritual and moral qualities matter more in a modern society.

Happiness results from ones feelings of participating in dynamics that produce a positive result because of a global effort. Pretty? To whom? LOVE requires no qualifications. The truth is: "we love the thing that gives us what we want". It's that simple. K?

We create our own world. My world isn't based on money and beauty but I agree that its sad that so many people's worlds are.

We have to find the courage to fight against such culturally reinforced illusions.

it's the marketplace--to sell more products they will make any woman feel inadequate. then you have to make tons of money for these products, face lifts, tucks, and all that.
don't blame the people so much as the corporations.
