Can anyone help me how to :
1) Write with the scripts format? I'm new and I don't know how to write it with those indents and all.
2.)Sell my script? I know I have to get it in the right format and use Courier/Courier New size 12, but how can I sell it?

The formats will change slightly depending on what exactly your writing, be it an episodic television show or a feature length movie. There are so many little bits and pieces to writing a script, which is why they offer college lvl courses in it now. But for a feature film this might give you a little idea of what you'd find:

1. Int: Mike's Bedoom - Day

Ok from this you can surmise that this is the first scene (Indicated by the number 1) Int indicates that the shot in an interior or indoors shot as opposed to an Ext or exterior shot. Mike's bedroom tells us exactly where indoors the the shot will happen, and Day tells us the time when the shot takes place.

From there you might write a little to describe the room, special elements of it, or a little bit about the situation. From there you can add actions and character dialogue. Dialogue is usually centered on the page and sometimes the character names are in bold face, followed by the actuall lines.

Like I said this only BARELY scratches the surface. Your best bet would be to get a hold of either a screenwriting book or a software program like "Movie Magic Screenwriter 2000". It has templates built into it to help you get the formatting right.

As for selling your script, that is a bit trickier. EVERYONE in Hollywood thinks they have a great story to tell, and most places won't even look at your script unless it is solicited due to legal concerns. Your best bet would be to submit some samples of your writing to various agents who deal specifically with writers and see if they would be willing to take you on. From there they can submit you for work or try to sell a script that you have already written. Best of luck!

Script writing entails talent. You cannot just write script just for the sake of doing so. The script you will be writing must jive with the director's wish. The character of the casts plays a major role and must be based on the film or episode suited to it. Selling your script is not easy task. You must build your identity in the film industry first. You should first start to a simple one or join to any film contest. Remember that you cannot rush everything overnight. Do your script writing right the first time. Good luck.

Hon, without writing credits NO ONE will let you write scripts or purchase your script.

The writing industry is a closed shop, few are chosen, as new writers.

You are better off writing plays for your local community college, or high school.
