10x – 0.62 = 9(x – 0.95)

Multiply out the 9, to get rid of the parentheses:

10x - 0.62 = 9x - 8.55

Move 9x and -0.62 to the opposite side to get all the x terms on one side and all the constant terms on the other:

10x - 9x = -8.55 + 0.62

Add, and you've got the solution:

x = -7.93

That's your answer (D).
