Afraid is more apt for me because refection connotes a more negative feeing. It means you are out casted from a belonging. It drives out from the rest. While afraid is a natural feeling of something because of fear. You are afraid not because you are totally surrendering yourself but because of the outcome. Sometimes it is better to be cautious in life.

Oh definitely "afraid of rejection".I mean what human wants to feel unwanted?Not only that,but some of the long term effects of it.Fear of being rejected just because of that first time,governs the rest of your relationships.

well not necessarily afraid. i don't like it, but not afraid of it. and commitment can be a problem to almost everyone in a certain case.
but out of the two. i'm not sure. it really all depends on the situation.
