Somebody left a damn can of soda in my car. With the heat, the thing exploted and now ants are crowling all over the place. What's a good way to kill all these ants without spraying insecticide all over the dashboard?

If I leave my lunch, or buy fast food at the drive thru, these ants go inside my food. It's really scary and uncomfortable.

Clean it with some good cleaner to make sure you have all the sticky stuff out of there. Wipe it down with some white vinegar. The ants hate the bitterness so they wont attract to it.
Do not let anyone in your car with pop again. That would make me so furious.

Well, depending on your infestation with ants, there are multiple solutions to your little dilemma.
So, if there is only some of those pesky little things, then you might as just well deal with it for a while. Their lifespan isn't any close to yours. They would just die off.
Your case, as it sounds, is probably a more serious problem. You can try removing the chairs in the car, including upholsteries if necessary, and vacuum the car. I had to do that once and it seems to work. If is really bad, you can always use Mother Nature and park the car outside in the summer heat to kill them off. This probably works the best in Arizona or someplace like that.
One last solution is to hire a professional car-interior cleaner off a yellow page or the internet.
Oh... and there's always the insecticide.
Best wishes!!!

The first thing is to completely clean the car with soap and water. Once the food source is gone, so will the ants.
I like the vinegar water suggestion. You can also use the vinegar water and newspapers to clean the windshield while you are there.

Vacuum them out then have your car detailed to remove the sugar they are after. Remove the symptoms, remove the problem.
Sprinkle some Sevin granuals ( granular pesticide) around the area where you park your car. It will kill and deter the others that try to get to the vehicle.

Happened to me and cockroaches got in there. I had some holes in the upholstery and they got down into the seats and were living there. I'd be driving down the road and one of those little bastards would crawl across my leg! I finally put an insect bomb in there. Good Luck

THERE ARE LITTLE ANT TRAPS THAT THE ANTS GO TO. YOU CAN GET THEM AT WAL-MART OR ANYPLACE. THEY JUST STICK ON THE DASH AND THEY WILL COME OFF WHEN THE ANTS ARE GONE. ALSO IF YOU WOULD RATHER, YOU CAN USE A CUCUMBER PEELING, AND THEY DON'T LIKE THEM, AND THEY WILL LEAVE AND THAT WILL BE THE END OF THEM, AND NO INSECTICIDE WILL BE INVOLVED.
