I was wondering how I could make a portable stage (10 ft X 10ft) that could support around 8 people at a time. It needs to be easy to transport and get out of the way, meaning it can't be too heavy, but the platform needs to be made out of wood (preferably)

the simplest thing to do is build it in smaller sections that go together. either that, or build it onto a trailer. For more details, feel free to contact me at tootall1121@yahoo.com. We could possibly figure out a way to make it fold out from a smaller size. It will be a bit heavy if only wood is used. the pros use extruded aluminum. this is nice, but ups the price and the skills needed to work with it.

Be careful Building a homemade wood stove water heater, it's very easy to make a bomb. You will need tanks, piping and pressure relief devices. Scalding water is also a problem because of no heat control. I stayed in a cabin that had a 30 gallon OPEN TOP metal tank up near the ceiling, and a coil of heavy wall copper tubing that ran through the back of a wood stove. One end of the tube was connected to a drain valve in the bottom of the tank and the other end was fitted near the top of the tank. the tank was filled with a hand pump from the well and the water gravity heated through the copper tubing. The was another valve at the bottom of the tank that was connected to a hose with a very small shower head. It worked great if you monitored the heat and added cold water when it got too hot. If you let the tank get to low and the fire too hot, the water could boil. They tried to modify it, putting valves in to shut the flow off from the bottom of the tank to stop heating the water. The water left in the pipe boiled off and made the cabin like a steam room. Eventually the copper pipe burned through. They finally abandoned the whole set-up. There are wood stoves that are fitted with water heating systems.
