both; we don't have to be wrong or right

Well, first off, between the two of us, we both are right.

How do I know? We both are entitled to our own opinion, one of us thinking something is cool, and the other thinking somethinkg isn't cool. And our reasons for thinking the way we do are there for a reason. Have you ever tried to convince someone something was cool when they thought is wasn't or vice versa? Usually not a good idea. They'll either argue with you about it or try and hide their true feelings.

The kicker comes when our opinions are viewed against the backdrop of the rest of the world. If your opinion matches what is popular or considered "cool" by the majority of society, and your friend's isn't considered cool by a lot of people, then your friend might seem not cool, even though he or she is still entitled to their opinion and in their own minds and in their own small circle of friends, they are indeed right. In some cases, this can be unfortunate, in other cases not so unfortunate, but probably in most cases, it is trivial, it is just our own opinions.

In art, we both are! The reason for that is when you are looking at art, it's your interpretation that is important. What can you find to relate to in the art? How does it make you feel? Are there things in the piece you especially relate to? It's up to you to find what you like in a painting or sculpture. So, if your friend thinks a painting is cool, and you don't, perhaps you haven't done your mental work yet. Either way, both are right.

There is no wrong or right in this situation, because it's just a matter of opinion. And we all know what they say about opinions.

Things like that are opinion based, not fact based. So either one of us could be right. Actually there is no such thing as right or wrong when it comes to opinions.

I am right, of course, because my taste is (a) better than yours, and (b) the only one that counts for me.

You may feel the same way about your own opinion, but of course you'd be wrong!

I do not think it's a matter of right or wrong, it's just a matter of one's opinion.
