I am on day 23 of a 27 day cycle. Yesterday I took an hpt and it was positive. Today I took one and it was negative. It is too early to go to the doctor to get a blood test... which hpt was right?

It is possible that you could have had a false positive, but its more likely that you had a false negative. You may have taken the second test at a point in the day when there wasn't enough HcG (pregnancy hormone) to be deteced in your urine. You are also testing really early which is sometimes a mistake, as tempting as it is. Make yourself wait until day 28 and then test, you will be more likey to trust the answer.
Its not too early to get a blood test, but some docs are reluctant to give them due to insurance and costs. Blood tests can detect pregnancy as early as 7 dpo.

It's uncommon to have a fasle positive hpt, but it is common to have a false negative hpt. I would surely see a Dr. as soon as possible, I would also at least take another hpt then make an appointment. Good luck I hope you get the answer you want!
My best friend is 3 months right now, she had taken 15 ept and first response hpt's and ALL were negative until she went to planned parenthood, they came up with a neg urine test and a positive blood test.....just something to think about ....

It is much more likely to get a false neg rather than a flase positive....the hormone levels are going crazy right now. I would take a early detections test tomorrow using first morning urine. I'll bet you see another positive. When you do get an appt to see the dr and have a blood test to confirm. Good LUck!!

You could have had a false positive, or an early miscarriage. Regardless, it wouldn't be too early to request a Blood Test. Pregnancy can be detected in the blood stream faster than urine.

hard to say ,go see your local doctor to get a blood test done,usually if you are preg you get the results the other way around,a neg then a poss,but that sounds weird,you either have had a missed miscarriage or the second day you tested you didnt do it with your first morning pee,i would wait a day or 2 then do another

I did, talk about dissapointing. you can definately get a blood test now... but i would wait a few days and take another HPT. good luck

Uusally you would go by the posiitve, It can happen though that implantation starts to occur, then stops so that you get a positive then a negative.
