Huh....I'm nearly 50 and I do alot of the same stuff I did when I was 20 (maybe not as often, lol) Have rather less intrest in getting drunk (still have drinks...usually not so many), dance laugh, party with my friends. I like to fish and garden and I take more vacations than I used to (more money). I LOVE roller coasters (didn't know that until I was 35). Went parasailing on my last vacation (very cool). I am building a motorcycle (trike) that I plan on taking to Alaska. Your Mom is 50, not dead. If she needs friends get her out doing some volenteer work (political campains are good for meeting men--yes she still looks at them) or to church. Or even your local beer joint. Sounds to me like she nneds to dump you and your "activities" and go have some fun! Good luck to you both.

My uncle, and father in law are both around 78 years old and walk 6 miles a day. They just take in scenery around a lake or the city, stop for a coffee, and window shop. My uncle also loves bicycling, cooking, going out to the Am Vets club for a drink so he sees friends, and he just took up photography at the community college. And he's working on a genealogy of the family.
I hope I'm that active at that age!

Pretty much the same thing everybody else does if they are in good health.
To name a few, miniature golf, bowling, dancing, dining, a movie, conversation clubs, roller/ice skating, volunteer work, swimming, karate, exercising. Fun does not stop after 50. Wheee! and we have more money to burn too.
