I accidentally drove home today in D3 transmission in my Accord. It was about 30 minutes of highway driving (~70-75 MPH) and I'm concerned about damage to my engine and/or transmission. Should I be legitimately concerned or is a one time occurrence nothing to worry about?

No, all it affected was your fuel economy. For 30 minutes you didn't have overdrive.

I honestly have an Acura with D3 and D4. in accordance to the instruction manual, D3 is used, ideally, around city. For street using, it recommends beginning in D3 and then getting into D4 (that's overdrive) you will see a drop interior the RPMs once you do this. have you ever harm the trans? i do no longer think of so. My spouse in no way used D4 (for the 1st 3 hundred and sixty 5 days whilst the automobile became new) till I advised her approximately it. sturdy tip: substitute the trans fluid a minimum of each 30,000 miles.

D3 instead of over drive isn't that big a deal. you just turned more RPM's and got less gas mileage is all.

All you did was cost yourself some gas money. Don't worry about it. Your fine. good luck.
