It mostly depends on your driving habits, but usually I see cars and trucks in the shop at 40-50k miles.

Under normal driving conditions they can last two years. But for most of us we are going too fast when it comes time to stop and that takes graphite off the pads. It is a friction thing. Like sanding a piece of wood. The longer and harder you sand the quicker you run out of wood. So get them checked once a year. Unless you drive in stop and go traffic a lot. Then matbe check them twice a year. Taxi's use more pad than the soccer mom's suv.

it depends on how you brake, for example if you apply the brakes hard coming to a red light or if you apply them lightly a ways away and slowly slow down. if you have a problem of the brake pads wearing out especially on one side you may have a bad brake line or a caliper that is hanging up.

Normal driving and use, about 35K miles. Remember that it is just an average. If you hear noises from your brakes then have them serviced.

Virtually impossible to say because it depends so very, very heavily on how the auto is driven. We've got 70,000 on ours so far.
