Why is it that some people send chills down your spine and give you a dizzy feeling when they speak to you?

I have noticed that certain people who speak to me give me a sort of 'high' feeling. Not of happiness but like the feeling you get taking a drag of a cigarette after a long period of not smoking. The common denominator seems to be that the person is experienced, older, wiser, and intelligent. I've had this feeling around my grandmother, a Ph.D scientist, and others who I generally hold in high esteem.

Such persons are called energy vampires.

In New Age terminology, an energy vampire or psychic vampire is a being said to have the ability to feed off the "life force" (often also called qi, prana, energy or vitality) of other living creatures. Alternative terms for these persons are pranic vampire, empathic vampire, energy predator, psy/psi-vamp, energy parasite, psionic vampire.

Some people, by their very presence, seem to drain the energy of those unprotected people around them. They will often associate with a victim who exhibits the classic signs of this drain.

General debility, lack of motivation and energy, an emaciated physique, a pallid complexion, and an overall sense of weakness are typically noted. These victims also tended to be highly suggestible people. The dominant partner (energy vampire) always resists a successful treatment or protection applied to their victim.

Most of these energy vampires are well-meaning, normal people. They are an unhappy lot, and do their damage by a telepathic draining of their victim's energy resources.

Sounds like you are entranced by people who have an intense amount of intelligence. You become bewildered and slightly euphoric in speaking with them. It's possible that that is something you look for and/or admire, in return you become awe struck by them.

I guess its their energy or aura that surrounds that..and it sounds like you're easily affected by other peoples energy. I thought it would be the exact opposite for you i.e if you highly respect your grandma, then you'd be getting a happy high; thats strange. I get that dizzy feeling if I encounter someone who complains all the time or is much too hyper for my liking.

I feel this way when I admire someone or am infatuated with them. I think when we feel a certain contentment with someone or something, certain chemicals are released in the body...that must account for the feelings.
