1) Curl your lashes.
2) Apply eyeliner tight against your upper lash line w/ a dark color. e.g. coffee brown, black

Actually, using too much eyeshadow will only make worse. Any makeup's purpose is to underline your beauty and hide or cover imperfections. Perfect makeup should be invisible and flattering. The art of bringing out your eyes depends on their shape. There are various makeup tricks to do it with eyeliners, eyeshadow and mascara. My favorite trick for any eyes is to use a combination of dry eyeshadow on the eyelids and wet eyeshadow of a close but darker tone instead of a liner (applied with a tiny special brush). It creates a fabulous natural effect. The other question is how to apply. Like I said, it depends on your eyes shape. The best is to go to a professional makeup artist once and receive a personal advice (also about the best colors to use for you personally).
Just to introduce myself: I have a makeup background from Europe. I am hosting a site www.modelingandmore.com and a blog www.modelingandmore.blogspot.com and a new article on makeup tips will be coming out soon. Please visit if you are interested and ask more questions if you like.

I use a little eyeliner just on the outside corners of my eyes and a good, non-clumping mascara (my favorite is Mary Kay all-day wear mascara). Then I just use a little bit of light shimmery eyeshadow under my browbones and a bit of brown eyeshadow around my eyelid creases to bring my eyes out.

First step in making eyes look bright and beautiful is making sure your eyebrows are nice and groomed. Shaping these are the key to framing your eyes for a polished and clean look. Therefore, if you have really bushy dark eyebrows, make sure you trim them up a bit and get some tweezers to pluck some stray hairs; however, if you have really thin eyebrows, make sure you let go of the tweezers and let them grow in for a nice natural arch.
-Next step, is highlighting. Getting a really pretty iridescent silverly pigmented eye shadow (Revlon Diamond Dust for Eyes), sweep the shadow on the inner corner of the eyes, then dust a little bit on the browbone. This step really makes your eyes the focal point of yoru face, without even lookign like you have makeup on
-After, get a warm taupe color shadow and apply the color on the crease. The taupe shade is neutral enough to look like it is your natural skintone, but, by applying it to your crease, makes your eyes pop. I like Maybelline single shadows.
-Next, get a white pencil eyeliner, and apply it to the INNER rims of your eye. This will make your eyes look bigger and brighter.
-Lastly, apply three generous coats of lengthening and curling mascara. This will give a real eye opening effect. You can also try volumizing mascara, but I find that most of these clump and tend to look very unnatural.
-***P.S. make sure that you hide any undereye circles with a yellow/ light-pigmented concealer. Physicians formula concealers are good. This will make your eyes even more beautiful and refreshed.

A lot of people use Black eyeliner to bring out their eyes when in actuality it takes away from their eyes. If you go to a beauty store. Ulta, Sephora, ect... They have these eyeliners, wideners that make your eyes look brighter. They just look like white pencils but if you read the packages its different try it before eyeline for the perfect dramatic effect

everyday i use silver/white or a metallic eyeliner on the bottom lid and a brown eyeliner on the top lid. i use this mac product that's supposed to fix your eyebrows, but i use it on my eyelashes. it's kind of like a clear mascara. it looks totally natural and it's not overdone.

Eyeliner and mascara. If you're looking for a natural look, I suggest not using black of either of these.
Oh, and don't go overboard on these either.
