Well, in a way, they can. When you die you can ask for a green burial which is exactly what I plan to do. That means no chemicals, no expensive caskets, nothing to preserve you at all. When I die I want any organ that can be used to be given away and I want to return to the earth what the earth has given to me.

Idk either, but I'm pretty certain that fertilizer is just a metaphor. Even if it isn't I don't see the point of filling a body full of chemicals and placing in a $8000. box to decay slowly. This is just for me personally, but I think it's all just a waste.
I want to take care of the planet God gave me, not add to it's destruction.

Unless you pass without anyone knowing- say in a woods someplace hiking are something... it is a bad idea for the body to be used as fertilizer. It would be toxic.

The entire funeral industy is built on a crazy tradition that very few people question... They basically charge you - um' or your family, a ton of cash to turn you into a chemical filled bag. Manily, you should note- just about all of your insides are removed and replaced with very toxic chemicals.
Visually, at your funeral, you sort of might still look like you did when you died - but really, there is little of you left there. Just your bones and skin really. I guess your brain is there too. I suppose this makes some people feel better.

I think I will opt' for somehting a bit more organic if I can. I don't like the thought of my organs, blood and fluids... the 90 % of me -being sucked out of me and being sent into the sewer system.
