I want to put some new rims on my car. I am not if I can do this my self. I have a lot of experience changing bicycle tires. To change a rim on a tire i know it has to be the same size. Then when I take the tire off and blow the air out, will I be able to take the rim out easy? And just slide the new rim in? Or is it more complicated than this? Any answer woud be greatly appriciated, thanks

its certainly not a do it yourself project
you have to have special equipment to get the tire on and off the rim

Everyone is right - this is not a DIY project. But before you go to all this trouble, you have not mentioned if the rims you are fitting are from the same type vehicle.
There are two very important things to look at when changing rims. First is the offset - that is how much the rim is actually offset from the centre. This will determine if the rim will fit over the disc calipers, or fit within the mudguard.
The second consideration is the stud pattern - 4 stud or 5 stud also the distance between stud centres can be different.

Good luck with your projects.

If you mean changing rims and putting on your old tires, that is very difficult. Tire shops have specialized tools to take tires off of car rims because of the force required. It's nothing like changing tires on a bicycle.

Mounting and balancing tires isn't very expensive, I really recommend you go to a shop.

A car tire and rim are nothing like a bicycle. you would not dismount a tire and re install it on a new rim without a tire machine. then you have to have them balanced or they wobble and shake at speed. Take the old rims-tires off the car then take the rims and old rim tire combo to a tire shop have them mounted and balanced and then reinstall the new rims on your car. you'll save a little that way.

It is not worth it. You need to take the rims in to a tire shop and have them do it. That way they can balance the tires and even do a wheel alignment if it needs it. For what they charge, it is not worth your trouble and time.

Ive been successful once, but I had to drive another car over the tire and ruin it. Take it to a tire shop, you will need to have them balanced there anyway, it will cost you about $10/tire
