honestly when my one of my dr.s checked me at 34 weeks it didn't hurt as much as 36 weeks. at 36 her head was down. I think it was because the exam at 36 weeks the dr helped me relax and told me to put my legs a different way. I really think that helped. It might have been the position your or the baby was in at the time of the exam.

The baby's head being down means it is moving inot position for giving birth. Fully locked means it is as far down as it can go without coming out. Your checkups shouldn't really hurt although it may sometimes set off braxton hicks or cause some spotting, especially if the baby is taking up a lot of room! It sounds like your baby is preparing for birth! You may still have awhile to go though so don't worry if nothing happens right away. In the next few days you may lose your mucous plug and have some more contractions. Babies normally move into the engaged position prior to birth and can stay like that for awhile. It's very normal for this stage of pregnancy. Term is generally anywhere from 37-42 weeks. Good Luck and get ready for your Baby!

your baby is getting ready to be born ,her head is probably down, but dont be fooled by this things can change right up to the last minute of delivery, with only three weeks left to delievery you should enjoy being on your own for the time thats left, because when you have your baby, you will be changed forever.........dont worry its gonna be fantastic, better than i can even explain, take care and put your feet up.
