I don't think one can ever predict this. I think that is part of makes life so unpredictable. We can climb a mountain and make our way up to the plateau...... walk steady and firm for quite a while without suspecting that around the bend there might be another incline. I think its just that as live goes on, we get used to these obstacles and they don't seem as intimidating. So perhaps..... at my older age. (oh good grief did I really say that? Egads!)....... I have fewer hills to climb.... because they seem sooo vastly smaller than they did years ago. Make sense??

I believe the day you stop climbing hills ... is the day you stop living. When I was younger I kept thinking ... this has GOT to get easier. I saw the hills as a curse rather than an opportunity to better myself. I spent so much time dwelling on that ~ the obstacles just grew. Instead of asking when are these mountains gonna end? I should have been saying "Bring it on! It'll feel great when I reach that goal!!" Now I know that life is all about moving forward and conquering hill after hill and celebrating each time you've reached the top.

You can most certainly relax at times, but you should NEVER stop climbing. Like any thing else that comes to an end ... life wouldn't be worth living if there was nothing left to climb! =)

Wow! This is the best question I've encountered all day! As someone who managed to backpack more of my country, during my poverty stricken college days, than I have yet to see again, since establishing a life in the country with a menagerie of animals, I still manage a bountiful of hills, as well as valleys. I'm the stubborn type, who, too often, wears her heart on her sleeve. So, no surprise, that my life has been filled with plenty of mountains to climb.

That said, I can't think of many things I would choose to change. I feel more grateful for my lessons learned than to have never made the journey. Therefore, I expect to encounter many more hills, as well as valleys ahead. There is just too much life left to live and learn from, to settle for less. I hope my elder years will be filled with whatever enlightenment I choose to seek, with mind wide open, heart full, and less fear towards every endeavor.

Well, the hill I'm climbing right now is so high, I can't see past it to count the other hills! So I have no clue.

"Hills" are always there for us to climb, I see them as phases in my life, and a challenge to be met. Life would not be interesting if we do not have something to accomplish, I do not know the number though, don't think anyone does - but that is the mystery and the beauty of life ;)

There is only one hill in my life. I'm still climbing, wait till I reach the top, it's the day when I die and all adventure completed.

It's totally unpredictable. I have climbed many over the past 30 years - and there is no doubt that I will have many more to climb - but I don't think it's possible to quantify it.

There's always another hill to climb, no matter how old you are.

Hmmm...
Got the hubby, the kids, the house, the job, the cars.

I think I am sitting on top of the hill now.
