You should call the police department and ask them. You dont have to give them your name or anything. Normally, if the allegations are substantial, they will not return you. Especially if you express how dangerous it would be to go back. Make sure that they are aware of whats going on, and if you can get anyone to vouch for you, like a friend, or another witness, that too helps. I was too in that situation, but im in california. The policemen at first brought me home, but later i found out i could have sued the city because my allegations werent taken seriously. So call them and speak to someone. Also, look up the number and call the run away hot line or any teen hotline. They are 24 hours a day, and its all anonymous. They can help with many of these situations. They helped me.

They'd only return you if someone called them. Chances are it wont be your parents as, if they (or the household in general) are abusive as you say, they'll hardly want the cops escorting you home. There'd be some tough questions they'd have to answer.
If you've got a place to stay, I say go. It wont be "legal" and you could be taken home if your parents really wanted to take you but it's worth a shot. Besides, it'll only be for a year and then you'll be an adult and can stay anywhere you please. If your parents *did* try to come and get you then a call to the police, or the threat of one, might get them to back off. Like I said, I doubt they'd want the police involved.
Good luck!

When my 17 year old moved out of home the police told us they would check on her, see if she is safe and that was all they would do. Im in Michigan(Kalamazoo County)

you will have to either go to court to get emancipated, or notify the police/family serivces of the abuse so they can investigate it.
you don't want your family reporting you missing or signing warrants for you then getting arrested for it.
if your friends family is willing to become your legal guardians then again they would have to go to court and petition for it.
the police will not force you to return to an abusive home but they do need to know what the problem is

If you feel that your parents are TRULY abusive, if they are physically injuring you or neglecting you, you should call child protective services and report them. It really depends on your situation, but basically, if you're under 18, you will be returned to your custodial parents if you run away and live somewhere else without their permission.

You need to report the abuse- chances are, the authorities will allow you to stay with your friend and her parents.
If you parents report you missing and know where you are, then yes- you could be returned because you are still a minor.

YES. They will indeed unless you get either a court order allowing you to change residence OR are emancipated. I suggest you go see an attorney right away, for your own protection.

Your folks signed off on the marriage certificate, you are now a legal adult. Contact a safe house and get rid of the creep.
